Assignment #1: Cash-Flow Assignment Due Monday, April 20
PART 1. We talked about your cash flow being separate from your art, but possibly using overlapping skills. Go to the O-NET Online Cluster listing for Arts, Audio-visiual & Communications that can be found on the Data Resources page on the home page and research a field on the list that might be an interesting one from which to earn your cashflow. The area can be a field related to your art form, or one that is different but draws on skills or interests you have, so long as it is on the list.
PART 2. Figure out your cashflow. Use the following online calculator to come up with your current monthly cash flow. Do a second iteration that reflects your estimate for immediately after you graduate. Print out a copy and be prepared to discuss in class- Due Monday, April 27
Assignment #2: Research the Field Due Monday, April 20th
PART 1. Look on the BLS link and locate the best cities for the art that you want to do. Look not just at your field, but look for cities that have related communities in common & networks that might be useful, as well as other characteristics that are of value to you.
PART 2. Research to see what jobs in your artistic field pay in your area, Look on BLS site to see what the going rate is for 3 jobs in your industry.
